How we do it
6 steps, no shortcuts.
Step 1
Plan the layout
We measure the area and draw up the layout and materials, allowing for drainage, slope and what's already there.
Step 2
Clear and excavate
Vegetation, debris and old structures come out, and we dig to the depth the base and pavers need.
Step 3
Build the base
Geotextile fabric to stop weeds and stabilize, then a layer of crushed stone compacted solid and level.
Step 4
Lay the pavers
Starting from one corner, following the plan, cutting pavers to fit the edges with a wet saw.
Step 5
Compact and sand
A plate compactor sets the pavers, fine sand fills the joints, and we compact once more.
Step 6
Edge and seal
Edge restraints hold everything in place, then we clean the surface and apply sealant or a joint stabilizer.
